Altar Guild

Mission: As a ministry of service to God and God’s people, members of the Altar Guild prepare the Sanctuary for the Holy Eucharist and other sacraments and offices of the church. They work behind the scenes setting up that is necessary for the celebration of the Eucharist or any of the other sacraments. After worship they tend to the cleaning and securing of leftover (reserved) sacrament and any communion vessels used during worship.
Short Description: Through intentional, and prayerful, care for the sacred vessels, the bread and wine, all linens and hangings, and the candles and torches used for worship in the Sanctuary, being a member of the Altar Guild is a special calling to the ministry of serving.
Person who would enjoy this ministry: If you have a willingness to serve and take joy in watching others benefit from your work, you have all the skills needed to carry out this ministry. By offering about three hours each month, you and a team of others help prepare the Sanctuary for Sunday worship, funerals, and weddings. Each team serves one weekend a month.
